I work with [http://cugir.mannlib.cornell.edu CUGIR], an open data repository for New York state.  I also help students and faculty at our university to find geospatial data, use desktop GIS software, and create web mapping applications.

I've been working on a catalog of geodata websites worldwide.  New websites are discovered by harvesting links from delicious, twitter, known lists of geodata links, etc.  As new sites are identified, they are lightly described (type, topic, place, tags) and approved by a human reviewer.  The primary target of the catalog is websites that serve geospatial data, but this could be easily extended to tutorials and GIS-related documentation, for example.  Hopefully I'll have a public launch soon...
