Creating user page for new user.

New page

I am a marine geomatics specialist with 14 years experience using Open Source geospatial software in the Canadian Federal Government for mapping and processing swath multibean bathymetry datasets, and seismic geophysical data in support of geological interpretation and map production. I have extensive experience conducting geophysical and hydrographic surveys, and I am an avid user of Linux and all associated command line utilities such as awk, grep, sed, vim, GRASS GIS, MB-System, Generic Mapping Tools, QGIS, SQLite, GDAL/OGR and others.

I have a B.Sc in Biology/Environmental Studies from Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada (2001), and an Advanced Diploma in Marine Geomatics from the Centre of Geographic Sciences in Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, Canada in 2002.

I really enjoy writing Bash shell scripts in support of automating geoprocessing and cartographic tasks, and I am always keen to discover new and efficient ways of pipelining massive geoprocessing tasks using open source tools via the Linux command line.
