-I also just starting working on a directory of geodata websites worldwide, because there are just so many out there.  The general plan is to keep it up to date by harvesting links from delicious, twitter, known lists of geodata links, etc.  As new sites are identified, they will be lightly described (type, topic, place, tags) and approved by a human reviewer.  The primary target is websites that serve geospatial data, but this could be easily extended to tutorials and GIS-related documentation, for example.
