* Plans for 2017 symposium

- Limerick chosen as location. Vote via Doodle poll [1]
- Daniel has been in contact with the Castletroy Park hotel.

- Provisional costs:

* 1 large room 250 EUR
* 2nd smaller room additional 155 EUR
* Tea / coffee 2.75 EUR per person
* Lunch 10 EUR per person
* ~600 EUR to cover keynote speakers flight, accommodation and expenses - Markus Neteler [3]

- With an aim to have 30 attendees the entire event would cost around 2,000 EUR
- Aim to keep attndance cost to 50 EUR
- Provisional date - Friday 26th of May

- Possible attendees:

* 7/8 people from OPW (Office of Public Works)
* Masters students from NUI Maynooth
* Society of Chartered Surveyors - Earth Observation Group
* 2/3 from Compass Informatics, Dublin office
* 2/3 from seconded Compass Informatics staff in Environmental Protection Agency
* Contact local authority GIS officers

- Sponsorship

* Shortfall of ~500 EUR to make up (50 EUR * 30 people = 1,500 EUR)
* Gold, Silver, Bronze approach? Sponsors can add logos to all literature surrounding the event?

- Structure of the day:

* 10am start
* 2 hours keynote talk, lightening talks (~5 mins max per presenter), and open discussion
* Lunch
* Afternoon - workshops

- Suggestions to be sent in for workshop ideas. Put these to a vote (to attendees?) to see what would be the
most popular to run

* GeoJSON (Hrishikesh)
* How to contribute to an OSGeo project (Seth)
* Building a first map with Leaflet (or OpenLayers)

* Actions

* Prepare a 1 page summary of the event. Also put on http://wiki.osgeo.org/ ?
* check wifi / power sockets at hotel

* Next meeting 10th of February (4pm Friday)
