Ajoutez ici vos idées (si vous avez des idées qui ne concernent pas spécialement le chapitre francophone, leur place serait plutôt [[Public_Geospatial_Data_Project_Update_Mission|là]]):

* faire démonstration de l'intérêt de publier de la donnée sous licence libre, en accompagnant des organismes francophones souhaitant libérer leurs données. Actions concrètes :
** Ecrire un argumentaire sur l'intérêt de libérer des données : [[pourquoi_des donnees_geographiques_libres_fr|ici]]
** Centraliser de la documentation en français de manière à clarifier la question des licences libres pour les données géographiques (PGL, CC, ...).
** Etat de l'art synthétique http://pagesperso-orange.fr/sge/libre/Toulouse-20060630_Donnee_libre.pdf (travail de CampToCamp qui peut être une base pour le document de synthèse proposé ci-dessous, licence GNU FDL). ** écrire un document de synthèse sur les licenses disponibles pour qui veut publier ses données, les avantages et inconvénient de chacune d'entre elles.

* centraliser l'information de disponibilité de données libres, et l'accompagner d'instructions en français pour l'utiliser au mieux (attention à ne pas [http://data.freemap.in/ réinventer la roue]).

** Créer un catalogue de données (méta-données, ...), Quel outil pour le faire, quelles normes? A priori Geonetwork (Il permet la pris en compte des normes internationales tous en pouvant être adapté pour les différents standards nationaux.) Pour le Canada, une entrée peut-être http://www.geoconnections.org/fr/index.html (qui mélange du gratuit et du payant)
** Lister les serveurs WMS, WFS de données concernant la francophonie.

* «mapping party» commune OSM-OSGEO en France (because “maps are cool”).
* action conjointe en vue de permettre la mise à disposition des données géographiques (routières et autres) par les mairies.
* mettre en place une procédure de parrainage
* aider OSM à traduire sa documentation et la diffuser sur la liste osgeo-francophone.

Conférences communautaires

Merci d'ajouter une courte présentation, un contact, site Internet éventuellement, vos contraintes (dates préférées pour réaliser la conférence). Chaque proposition sera accepté par un jury composé de trois membres des sociétés présentes au sein du village ainsi que d'un membre du bureau (non lié à l'une des sociétés présentes au sein du village). Chaque organisme peut présenter plusieurs conférences mais nous vous conseillons de définir un ordre d'importance car nous préférons la diversité des organismes.

During the [http://2009.foss4g.org/ FOSS4G2009 conference] in Sydney, Australia, there will be conference rooms available for people to hold Birds-of-a-Feather sessions.

Birds-Of-A-Feather sessions are unstructured timeslots where people can self organise themselves to discuss topics of interest.

This year, Birds of a Feather sessions will be held on Thursday 22nd October.

A number of rooms are available. First ones in get the rooms.

At this stage, each room is scheduled for one hour between 1615 to 1715.

Le salon Géo-événement 2008 a été l'occasion de réunir la communauté géomatique open-source francophone autour du village Open Source.
Ce village a regroupé les sociétés suivantes :
- Camptocamp,
- A COMPLETER

L'affluence a été très importante et le succès du village a été au rendez-vous, comme l'année dernière.

La représentation francophone de l'OSGeo a bénéficié du support des sociétés Autodesk et Camptocamp.
Ainsi, Autodesk a fourni des ordinateurs ainsi que des goodies et a pris en charge les frais liés au stand de l'OSGeo.
Comme l'année précédente, Camptocamp a organisé le village Open Source et permis à l'OSGeo d'être présent dans les meilleures conditions.

En l'absence de ces sociétés, l'OSGeo-fr n'aurait pu mener à bien sa mission de promotion des technologies géospatiales ouvertes au salon Geo-événement 2008.
L'OSGeo francophone souhaite donc ici remercier ses sponsors et plus particulièrement Virginie JOURDAN pour l'organisation du Village Open Source.

Ajoutez ici vos idées (si vous avez des idées qui ne concernent pas spécialement le chapitre francophone, leur place serait plutôt [[Public_Geospatial_Data_Project_Update_Mission|là]]):

* faire démonstration de l'intérêt de publier de la donnée sous licence libre, en accompagnant des organismes francophones souhaitant libérer leurs données. Actions concrètes :
** Ecrire un argumentaire sur l'intérêt de libérer des données
** Centraliser de la documentation en français de manière à clarifier la question des licences libres pour les données géographiques (PGL, CC, ...).
** Etat de l'art synthétique http://pagesperso-orange.fr/sge/libre/Toulouse-20060630_Donnee_libre.pdf (travail de CampToCamp qui peut être une base pour le document de synthèse proposé ci-dessous, licence GNU FDL). Toujours dans la même optique, possibilité de prendre quelques éléments dans le rapport de Nicolas Klein qui introduisait quelques notions sur les données libres http://kleinicolas.free.fr/SIG_OPEN_SOURCE/Nicolas_KLEIN_GEO17OS_0906.zip (licence en CC Paternité, Pas d'Utilisation Commerciale, Partage des Conditions Initiales à l'Identique)
** écrire un document de synthèse sur les licenses disponibles pour qui veut publier ses données, les avantages et inconvénient de chacune d'entre elles.

* centraliser l'information de disponibilité de données libres, et l'accompagner d'instructions en français pour l'utiliser au mieux (attention à ne pas [http://data.freemap.in/ réinventer la roue]).
Actions concrètes :
** Créer un catalogue de données (méta-données, ...), Quel outil pour le faire, quelles normes? A priori Geonetwork (Il permet la pris en compte des normes internationales tous en pouvant être adapté pour les différents standards nationaux.) * proposer des données libres sur le liveCD de démo

Et suite à la rencontre avec des contributeurs francophones de OSM :
* promouvoir l'action de OSM en diffusant de l'information sur la ML osgeo fr (et réciproquement)
* «mapping party» commune OSM-OSGEO en France (because “maps are cool”).
* action conjointe en vue de permettre la mise à disposition des données géographiques (routières et autres) par les mairies.
* mettre en place une procédure de parrainage
* aider OSM à traduire sa documentation et la diffuser sur la liste osgeo-francophone.

Une fois cette liste suffisamment étoffée, une étape de vote aura lieu, qui nous permettra de définir des priorités.

== Introduction ==
This report aims at showing what Francophone Local Chapter achieved in 2007. The Francophone mailing list has been created in October 2006 and our first actions began in 2007 by discussing about the organization of the Local Chapter. Currently, we are close to being a true legal organization tackling GFOSS subjects. This doesn't mean nothing has been done yet, instead, it should easier from now on to contribute to the GFOSS Francophone Community.

This report covers the period from January to December 2007.

== 2007: one year to create the Francophone local chapter ==
After joining into the mailing list, it was necessary to organize ourselves:
* local chapter structure: who manages the local chapter? how ?
* write clearly on the wiki our goals
* how could we organize ourselves and who could join the local chapter

This was not easy but OSGeo Guidelines and OSGeo organization helped us a lot: most questions were the same for all of us, and so the answer was always similar. We are now organized in three committees: free organization, free data and free software committee. A Board with 4 people has been elected, which manages the Francophone Local Chapter projects. For time-consuming projects, a dedicated manager can be elected by the board.

In September 2007, OSGeo Board accepted the Francophone Local chapter proposal.

Actions in 2007 focused on OSGeo visibility in Francophone countries, aka marketing missions. Three mains actions have been undertaken: two tradeshows and the translation of the OSGeo journal. The first two volumes are now published and can be downloaded from the Journal home page.

== 2008: one year to improve our organisation ==

any weaknesses in process, software, management, etc. that you plan to address or recognise need some help

This year, as we already said, we would like to finalize the creation of the legal OSGeo Francophone association. This will help us manage sponsorship, organize events in the name of a legal entity, plus many other benefits.

We would also like to improve our internal processes, by creating working groups on specific subjects such as translation, event organization, sponsorship, and so on.

To finish with, we compiled a list of actions for 2008, which will be put to vote, so as to determine the most important of them. The result will be our roadmap for 2008 !

'''Mes projets''' pour le chapitre francophone en ce qui concerne les données géographiques libres :
* faire démonstration de l'intérêt de publier de la donnée sous licence libre, en accompagnant des organismes souhaitant libérer leurs données.
* centraliser de la documentation en français de manière à clarifier la question des licences libres pour les données géographiques (PGL, CC, ...)
* centraliser l'information de disponibilité de données libres, et l'accompagner d'instructions en français pour l'utiliser au mieux.
* rapprocher les communautés francophones de l'OSGeo et de [http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/WikiProject_France OpenStreetMap] afin de dégager des synergies.

La version 2.0 de TileCache est une version majeure puisque le code a été restructuré : plutôt qu'un module unique pour chaque couche, service et cache, ceux-ci ont été découpés en plusieurs fichiers individuels.

Le bénéfice induit est important : cela permet une meilleure personnalisation des classes de couches de TileCache, avec la gestion de l'utilisation de vos propres modules personnalisés dans la configuration de TileCache pour les couches ou les caches. De plus, cela autorise une gestion plus simple de nouveaux services.

Il en résulte les caractéristiques suivantes :
* ArcXML Layer : les couches ArcXML ajoutent la gestion d'envoi de requêtes du style ArcXML directement vers le serveur. Ce type de couche est expérimental, et a été pensé pour utiliser le serveur ArcIMS de MassGIS.
* MGMaps Service : le service MGMaps accepte les requêtes dans le format utilisé par le client MGMaps, un client de navigation de carte mobile.
* WMTS Service : le service WMTS est une implémentation (seulement en mode tuile) de la version papier de la discussion sur le standard WMTS de l'OGC.

En plus d'avoir séparé les fichiers existants, il est maintenant possible de définir des chemins de module personnalisés -- il est donc très simple de paramétrer un fichier de configuration de TileCache pour pointer vers vos propres modules Python personnalisés, installés n'importe où sur votre système.

Au delà de ces améliorations, TileCache est maintenant disponible et installable via l'index des paquets Python (c'est à dire pypi ou Cheeseshop) :

Disponible à partir de http://code.google.com/p/boto/, boto est un paquet qui enveloppe l'API d'Amazon dans un wrapper Pythonic. Cela est installable dans les distributions récentes basées sur Debian comme python-boto. Il peut être installé via easy_install à partir de setuptools également : easy_install boto. La bibliothèque Boto est plus complète et prend mieux en charge les erreurs que la bibliothèque Amazon Example.

====Amazon Example Library====
Amazon fournit un exemple de bibliothèque Python. Cette bibliothèque fournit une enveloppe simple autour des webservices Amazon. Le code est disponible sur http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID=134&categoryID=47

Vous devez télécharger, décompressez et placer le fichier s3-example-libraries/python/S3.py dans votre chemin PYTHONPATH/sys.path. La distribution des sources de TileCache inclue ce fichier dans le fichier TileCache/Caches/S3.py. (Les packagers sont invités à enlever ce fichier de la distribution et à le lier à la bibliothèque boto à la place).

TileCache fournit un serveur de tuile par Internet basé sur Python, avec des mécanismes de cache extensibles, des frontends de service, et un moteur de rendu. Dans le cas d'utilisation le plus simple, TileCache nécessite seulement un accès en écriture au disque, la possibilité de lancer des scripts CGI en Python, et un WMS à mettre en cache. Avec ces ressources, vous pouvez créer votre propre cache sur un disque dur local de n'importe quel WMS, et utiliser le résultat avec un nombre quelconque de clients, incluant tous les clients WMS-C, TMS, et WorldWind.
