The UK-originated [http://openguides.org/ OpenGuides] Open Source spatial wiki project is having a pub meetup and "hackfest" on the 8th-10th December also in Oxford - http://dev.openguides.org/wiki/OxfordMeetup2006

[http://openstreetmap.org/ OpenStreetmap] also have regular UK mapping parties in different cities and it could be a lot of fun to sync an OSGeo-UK meetup with an OSM mapping party.

I'm interested in how new online technologies can help to share archaeological data.

I set up and run http://www.online-archaeology.co.uk, which is intended to act as an area where these ideas can be discussed.

Currently involved in:

- Using Google Maps API for online mapping

- Enabling MIDAS XML standards for data exchange

- Researching WMS and WFS with MapServer

In my day job I'm the development director for a .NET software company, so I try to bring these skills into the archaeology world.
