* 3SNews is a media company in GIS, who recently organized this meeting: http://wgdc2012.3snews.net/
* We currently do not have a PCO. Ang suggested bring people from 3S News for our next meeting.
* Ang will contact 3SNews in the morning on PCO arrangement.
* Important functions of the conference website is still buggy or missing. Mymova fixed some bugs but could use help from for testing.
* Tanner and Bo both volunteered to conduct test. Bo thought changing web maintainer at this point is risky.
* Bo recommended to have tester direct access to the developer could speed up the bug fix process. Xun will be responsible for contacting Mymova web maintenance related issues frequently.
* Cameron stated that need to break the project down into tasks and start active and constant management.
* Ang indicated difficult to assign tasks to LOC members, such as responding to emails, sending invitation letters to participant for visa applications.

** Regarding website issues, LOC classified the issues and sent request to mymova. LOC hope to hear the feedback from mymova by this Friday
** Regarding PCO(Professional Conference Organizer) contract, LOC will negotiate and make conclusions with PCO this Thursday.
** Regarding keynote speakers, Cameron sent an candidate list to LOC and waiting for confirm from LOC. Keynote speakers selection will be very important step to make things forward and hope keynote speaker selection could be completed within next week. After confirming keynote speakers, press release should be followed to increase awareness & buzz about FOSS4G 2012.

* Suggestions from international volunteer group.
** Sanghee proposed the Asian OSGeo special session at FOSS4G 2012 to add more Asian color to the conference and to increase the attending from Asian region. Xun will report this proposal to LOC.
** Cameron suggested task should be accompanied by target completion date in order to chase the progress.

Minutes:
* Gao Ang reported current situation of FOSS4G preparation from LOC side.
** Regarding PCO(Professional Conference Organizer) contract, LOC failed to sign a PCO contract with 3S News, a PCO company, last week. And LOC tried to find another PCO, but only to fail.
** Currently LOC is not optimistic about the hosting FOSS4G 2012 successfully due to lacking of experiences and staffs.
** Only 3 part time local volunteers are available in LOC now. However they don't have enough time to handle all the conference issues.
** LOC started to look over all the options including canceling.
* Cameron suggested a financial assessment or simulation for continuing and canceling conference.
* LOC & International volunteer group looked over the possibility of hosting FOSS4G 2012 as local event.
* According to Gao Ang, if LOC could not find PCO or hire full time organizer, LOC would like to cancel conference rather than make it a local event.
* Cameron stated LOC should make decision soon whatever that may be.
* Gao Ang will gather opinions from LOC members and then will report LOC's final decision on FOSS4G to OSGeo Board by this weekend.

**Korean chapter conducted several outreach activities including lecture, seminar and exchange programs.

*Too much dependency on too small key members. We need to increase active members.
*Korean chapter is still not legal entity, therefore there are several limitations to do our activities. We need to change our status to legal entity in near future.
*Need to expand activities to international scale. Our chapter has very talented members however their activities are somewhat isolated here in Korea.
*We need to seek stable revenue source to run our chapter. Our chapter financial is highly dependent on limited donation sources.

*We definitely need some speakers for FOSS4G Korea 2012.
*We hope more open source GIS related event could be held here in Korea or in Asia region.

===Outlook for 2012===
*We may see very prosperous year in 2012. As awareness of open source GIS increase here in Korea rapidly, many organizations want to cooperate with our chapter.
*In 2012, we may attract more members to our chapter and could run our chapter in more systematic way.
*We'll explore the possibility of hosing FOSS4G 2015 in Korea with other GIS related society like KSIS(Korean Spatial Information Society).

OSGeo Advocates are authoritative OSGeo personalities who have volunteered to talk on behalf of the [http://osgeo.org OSGeo foundation]. Advocates should be able to speak well, even better if they are entertaining.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of conferences around the world which have an interest in seeing presentations from authoritative speakers, with deep insights into topics related to Open Source Geospatial Software. Anyone fitting one of the [[OSGeo_Advocate#Understanding_OSGeo_roles|OSGeo Advocate categories]], may put themselves forward as an OSGeo Advocate. To do so, you will need to:
* Create an OSGeo wiki account, to edit this wiki (See "login" link in top right of this page).
* Create a new wiki page http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/User:YourOSGeoWikiUserName, and populate as per [[User:Template]], (copy and paste from the [http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php?title=User:Template&action=edit source] so that you see comments in the template).

* The list of OSGeo Advocates will be refreshed annually, after the annual voting of OSGeo Charter Members. Sanghee Shin received the BSc from the Department of Landscape Architecture, Seoul National University, Korea, 1996. He majored in environmental GIS and received MSc from Seoul National University, Korea, 1998. In 2011, he received MBA(Master of Business Administration) degree from KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) business school. He had been a GIS SW programmer till to 2004 and changed his career path to business administration. Since 2004, he has been president & C.E.O. of Gaia3D, Inc., a geospatial company in Korea. His major interests include open source GIS, 3D GIS, environmental GIS and meteorology.
