The mission of the Southeast US OSGEO Group is to build upon the [http://www.osgeo.org/content/foundation/about.html Mission and Goals] of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) by providing local networking and support opportunities and by advocating for Open Source GIS software and OSGeo initiatives through regional groups and conferences.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Near Term Goals==&lt;br /&gt;
*Start to hold near quarterly meetings&lt;br /&gt;
*Advocate for the use of Open Source GIS at regional and state levels&lt;br /&gt;
*Develop an OSGeo presence at conferences&lt;br /&gt;

==Membership==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

Calvin is a newcomer to the OSGEO world but he is highly interested in rapidly learning programming (currently Python) and making use of OS software and tools like QGIS and making clear, interactive online mapping and data visualization tools with OS backend like PostgreSQL and Geoserver. &lt;br /&gt;
