|Info=I'm a geospatial enthusiast who was introduced to the OSGeo community in 2024 at FOSS4G Europe in Tartu. I was so inspired by the spirit of openness, collaboration, and technical excellence that I decided to organize FOSS4G Europe 2025 in my hometown of Mostar. I deeply believe that open source geospatial software is the future. To truly harness the full potential of GIS, it must be accessible and usable by everyone—whether you're a public servant managing institutional data, a scientist conducting spatial research, a decision maker relying on evidence to lead, or simply a citizen who wants to report an issue in your neighborhood. GIS should be a shared platform for communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. This is something proprietary software simply cannot offer. Every community and organization is unique, and I believe strongly that software should adapt to local needs—not the other way around. It is my mission to actively promote and evangelize OSGeo projects across Bosnia and Herzegovina, engaging stakeholders from all sectors to support the growth and development of open geospatial infrastructure in our region.
=== Mapping Connectivity: How Open School Geospatial Data Powers Digital Inclusion ===
Nearly half of the world’s 6 million schools still lack internet access - a barrier to learning, opportunity, and equity. In this Birds of a Feather session, we’ll explore how [https://giga.global/ Giga] is using open geospatial data and tools to map school locations and connectivity status, helping governments, partners, and communities make smarter investments and close the digital divide.

We'll also explore the power of open school data beyond connectivity: how can we better support disaster response, infrastructure planning, and public health, unlocking broader social impact through transparency and collaboration.

Join us to exchange ideas, discuss open data standards, and connect with others working at the intersection of FOSS, mapping, and meaningful access.
